Unichip (Prado 120 4.0L V6)

After a little research and talking to a large number of people in Oz that had installed the Unichip I decided to make the step and install one.
As it turns out it was one of the best decisions I've made and totally recommend it to anyone that wants more power & torque. (Instantly noticable!)

The upgrade gave increases of 20% Nm & 17% kW at the wheels.

General driving has deffinately improved. It holds the gear better and needs a lot less right foot. Passing now lots of fun :D. Fuel economy has stayed the same and possible improved when towing due to less gear changes.

Factory specs rate the Prado at 179 kW @ 5200 rpm & Max Torque 376 Nm @ 3800 rpm (at the engine I presume)
The printout below is measured at the wheels.

it's funny that such a small modification such as the chip can increase performance so much, what was the price on the chip.?

So true. I understand that one of the advantges of the unichip is that it piggy backs on the factory chip and can just be unplugged and reinstalled in another vehicle (same engine obviously) Doesn't just flood the engine with more fuel.

I had it installed while doing something else a few years ago and it cost me somewhere around the $500 mark. As we liked it so much I've just made an enquiry to have it installed in another Prado and they quoted around the $1100 mark for full install and chip or $400 if I transfered the chip.
